Clara Musical Society Raise €700 for Goal Haiti Earthquake Relief with pub quiz on Monday 25th jan. Well done and thanks to all.
There are 2 pivotal parts for teens and a number of smaller roles. One is a 15-year-old girl (so I'm seeing 14-16 year olds) and one is a 17/18 year-old guy (I'm seeing 17-20 year-olds for this part.) I've done a number of workshops in secondary schools pre-Christmas and will resume this process when the schools have re-opened I'm looking for a lot of adult non-professionals for this, so I'd appreciate it if you could pass on the word to whomever you think might be interested. People are welcome to contact me directly and I'll also be running open casting days as follows:
In Athlone in St. Kieran's Community Centre on the Saturday January 16th from 11am until 6pm.
In Mullingar this coming Sunday, January 17th in Mullingar Arts Centre from 12pm until 7pm.
Obviously, any parent of kids need to accompany them if they wish to meet outside the open days.
It would of course be advantageous to people for me to see them in groups or individually outside the open day, as it's likely to be very busy.
If you thought it would be worth my while coming down to see any of your teenage students, I could call down to the Dean Crowe tmw (Wed) evening.
Nick McGinley Casting Director Fastnet Films
75-76 Camden Street Lower,
To whom it may concern,
We are scouting for teenage & adult non-actors (i.e. no experience required) to act in our drama feature film The Other Side of Sleep. We are looking for adults from the Midlands from the age of 20 to 75.
The film is about a young insomniac factory worker living in a small community. This feature film is written and will be directed by Rebecca Daly, the acclaimed Irish director of Joyriders. The film is being developed with the assistance of the Irish Film Board.
As the main thrust of the casting process, we are scouting across the Midlands to look for men and women with the confidence and natural charisma to perform on film. What we need is a short interview with you on camera, where you'll be asked simple questions to record your accent and look to show the director & producer. These tapes will be used purely for audition purposes and will never appear in the public realm.
We will also run open auditions in your area, which we will advertise in the local papers and radio stations. If we have interviewed you already, there is no need for you to attend these open days, unless we request that you do so.
I ran drama workshops in primary schools all over Dublin for the Fastnet Films feature film Kisses seeing over 2,000 children and all over Cork for the forthcoming feature film The Runway. I also cast the upcoming feature One Hundred Mornings.
If you are the parent of a young person whom I have given this sheet to, please feel free to ring me on the mobile above to arrange to meet and interview your son or daughter with your consent when you could be present.
I must stress that this is a large scale casting trawl, so the chances of getting a part are slim, but please e-mail me if you haven't heard anything in the next 4 weeks and I'll be able then to let you know if you've been chosen to be part of this Irish feature film.
